Brasstown Manor overlooks beautiful Lake Chatuge and is shadowed by Brasstown Bald Mountain -- the highest point in Georgia at 4,784 feet. Brasstown Manor offers independent apartment living as well as leveled assisted living for those adults needing a little more help with daily activities. The availability of adult day care offers opportunities for interaction with those senior adults living in the community who would like to be with other adults during the day. Activities to promote exercise and socialization are attractive, yet optional, features of Brasstown Manor. However, the priority at Brasstown Manor is security -- physical and "peace of mind" in knowing that one's needs can be met. With this in mind, there are various levels of support and supervision available depending on each resident's needs and desires. In a matter of seconds after being activated, Brasstown Manor's Emergency Response System indicates who of its residents needs help. Next it shows from where within the 41,000 square foot retirement community (including the garden areas and parking lots) the resident is signaling. Then important medical information of the individual in need flashes upon the computer screen. Immediately, assistance is on the way. In addition to its 24-hour supervised emergency call system Brasstown Manor has handicap-accessible bathrooms, wide doors to accommodate wheelchairs and walkers and a fire-detection and sprinkler system.
