Vermont is the 2nd least populated state and the only New England state without a coastline. The Connecticut River marks its eastern border and Lake Champlain, the 6th largest body of fresh water in the U.S., makes up 50% of its western border. Its largest city, Burlington, is the smallest largest city of any state and its capital, Montpelier, is the smallest capital of any state. It is the largest producer of maple syrup and is noted for its dynamic Fall foliage. This is beautiful and serene place to retire so long as you stay indoors in the winter and learn to say, "yea-uh"
