Assisted Living at The Moorings
Assisted living is a licensed, sheltered-care care option for those who need a little help with daily activities. These attractive apartments have been completely redesigned and are available to the public for the first time! Personal care and housekeeping are available to make life a little easier and a little safer. Our services help residents enjoy more independence in studio and one-bedroom apartments.

One of the most important ways that The Moorings of Arlington Heights can ensure peace of mind for residents is by providing health services right on campus. The Moorings Health Center provides rehabilitation and long-term care. It also offers a special memory care center for those with Alzheimer's disease or memory loss, and an assisted living community for residents who need additional support to stay independent.

The Health Care Center at The Moorings of Arlington Heights is home to those who need short- or long-term care. For some, it's a short stay while they rehabilitate following a hospitalization. For others, it's a decision to live here as a permanent resident because they need 24-hour assistance, nursing attention or security. All skilled nursing and rehabilitation services are Medicare-approved.
Residents of neighboring communities, as well as residents of The Moorings, can enjoy our newly remodeled nursing care center. We've created the ultimate in residential comfort:
? design elements that will make you feel at home in a welcoming, friendly environment
? a country kitchen
? an inviting dining room
? a living room with cozy chairs and a large-screen TV to provide just the setting to help you get better quickly
? sun-filled rooms that overlook our beautiful campus, flowering terraces, gardens and ponds.
Our enriching programs keep you active and engaged ? from computer classes to current events to concerts. Campus services include beauty/barber shop, a convenience store and snack shop, and a coffee bar.
Memory Care at The Moorings
We are devoted to enhancing the quality of life for residents who need memory care. Our safe, secure, and loving environment offers music, games, movies, and activities to keep residents engaged and motivated.
The Moorings of Arlington Heights has embraced a philosophy of interacting with residents called person-centered care.  We agree to honor the choices, preferences and abilities of all residents, whether in nursing care or memory care. Basic values of person-centered care include ?know each person? and ?put the person before the task.?
The goal of person-centered care is to transform our communities into places where people choose to live, not because they have to live there.
Person-centered care requires Moorings Health Center staff members to listen carefully for resident preferences and desires. We try to avoid saying ?we don?t do it that way here.? Our mission says we are here to support the wants and needs of the resident. Giving consideration to their preferred routines, activities, and life-long patterns is a critical part of the resident?s quality of life. Making a home where people live, love and thrive is person-centered care.

The Moorings? rehabilitation program is designed to help each resident achieve the highest level of independence possible. Residents who enter the program may be recovering from a stroke, heart attack, or orthopedic surgery.
Complete Medicare-approved rehabilitation services include physical, occupational and speech therapy. In addition, a full-time restorative nurse coordinates care between nursing and rehabilitation.
