The Great Plains meet the Rocky Mountains in Wyoming. The state is a great plateau broken by a number of mountain ranges. The Continental Divide spans north-south across the central potion of the state and forks in the south central part of the state in an area known as the Great Divide Basin. Here the waters that flow or precipitate into this area stay and cannot flow to any ocean but, rather, simply sink into the soil and evaporate. Wyoming is the 10th largest state in area but is the least populous. A Wyoming retirement offers plenty of room to frolic about in the great out of doors. Warmly dressed of course.
